Americans, continue reading after the article!

I just had to use all my knowledge in Spanish to translate the article you're about to read. Since neither Spanish or English are my native languages you should ignore any faults! Just for the record, I got that link from the official forum member "Ceci" posted in a very popular Argentinian topic!

Nic Cester (Jet): "We're a pop and roll band"

The Australian band wants to have their glory dates back with their first record in three years: "Shaka Rock". On the telefone, the lead singer talks about his expectations and his probable visit to Argentina.

Years back, around 1998, a group of Argentinian friends formed Jet and resgistered it as their name in our country. When the Aussie band decided to play on these lands, they faced a legal issue. They couldn't use the word "Jet" to sell or promote their products. Nic Cester, guitarrist and lead singer, has no good memories of that situation. "It's been a long time we've been trying to play in Argentina, but a fucking Southamerican band wanted to sue us because we had the same name." says Nic. He doesn't remember how they worked it out but he knows there was a lot of money involved. "Actually, I'm not quite sure if there was a trial, but we had to pay those fuckers."

Q: What did join the band again?

A: We had some issues to work out. I feel that was the record we needed to release since everything had gone on the way we wanted with the previous one and our personal lives weren't in the best moment.

Q: Except for the last song, the record is very rocking...

A: That's what we wanted. To sound like before.

Q: Did you try to go back to your roots?

A: I think Shaka Rock is what we are. Shine On was different because of what was going on around us: fortunately, everything cooled down.

Q: How do you define the sound of your band?

A: The most important word for us is Roll. I can say that we're a Pop and Roll band.

Q: Are you satisfied with the record?

A: Yes. That's probably the most interesting album we've done so far, because we were challenged as we never were before. I think as long as the present goes, this is our best album.

"I can't wait. Argentina has a great rock tradition. And the meat is very good!"

And if you've got no idea of what I wrote on the post title, it means "I've got info on the US tour" in a very cheesy Spanish (By the way, have you watched Jet's Haiti video?). So, Jet shall be visiting the Americans during the whole month of March and the Canadians will have their piece too!
