Get your coats on and let's take a look at Jet's performance at Winter Olympics in Canada:

First of all, this little review taken from this blog.

"(...) After spending three days going to adrenaline packed events–Men’s Combined (Downhill and Slalom), Team Ski Jumping, Men’s Giant Slalom, and Women’s Bobsled–a day to rest and a relaxing evening spent at a Medal Ceremony was exactly what we needed…NOT.

Once the athletes had left the stage, the band for the evening, Jet, made their entrance, along with the extra 2000-3000 people outside the gates, waiting for the musical performance (tickets weren’t needed to see the band). Within a few minutes, the fence we were leaning on (yes, the fence in the VERY front!) became the fence we were pressed against by the thousands of people now behind us. I didn’t mind; I was 30 feet away from the lead guitarist of JET!

The biggest problem (for my parents, anyway) was probably how we were right outside the entrance to the mosh pit; those people pushing up against us were the impatient 20-something-year-olds that decided that they didn’t have to wait to be inside the mosh pit to start dancing like maniacs.

While my dad looked rather overwhelmed, trying (and succeeding =]) to take pictures of the band, I was absolutely loving it. The energy given off by the band onstage and the mosh pit right next to us gave me what was probably one of the biggest adrenaline rushes of my life. I have never been that close to a band before, and for my little brother, Trevor, this was his first ever concert! He came out saying, “That was the best hour of my life!”

When he said that, all I could think of were the Olympians, whose effort was finally rewarded; it was the best hour of their life too.

Cute isn't it? But cuter than that was how Chris looked like he was dressed by his mom and how they all look like they're freezing:

Also, there's a video interview here wich I can't watch probably because of my country, but maybe you can!

By the way, can you believe I've never seen or touched snow in my entire life? I feel jealous in my tropical weather here!

Sorry for my absence, I've been really busy! Actually, there're no news right now but I just wanted to say that I went back to school so I could apply for another course at uni (I used to study Computer Science but I can't stand it!) and now I'm trying to apply to Civil Engeneering if that's how you call it. So, I'm gonna have to study my ass off again and I'll update Jetthefuckingband weekly.

Are you from Nic's team? So, be jealous!

Americans, continue reading after the article!

I just had to use all my knowledge in Spanish to translate the article you're about to read. Since neither Spanish or English are my native languages you should ignore any faults! Just for the record, I got that link from the official forum member "Ceci" posted in a very popular Argentinian topic!

Nic Cester (Jet): "We're a pop and roll band"

The Australian band wants to have their glory dates back with their first record in three years: "Shaka Rock". On the telefone, the lead singer talks about his expectations and his probable visit to Argentina.

Years back, around 1998, a group of Argentinian friends formed Jet and resgistered it as their name in our country. When the Aussie band decided to play on these lands, they faced a legal issue. They couldn't use the word "Jet" to sell or promote their products. Nic Cester, guitarrist and lead singer, has no good memories of that situation. "It's been a long time we've been trying to play in Argentina, but a fucking Southamerican band wanted to sue us because we had the same name." says Nic. He doesn't remember how they worked it out but he knows there was a lot of money involved. "Actually, I'm not quite sure if there was a trial, but we had to pay those fuckers."

Q: What did join the band again?

A: We had some issues to work out. I feel that was the record we needed to release since everything had gone on the way we wanted with the previous one and our personal lives weren't in the best moment.

Q: Except for the last song, the record is very rocking...

A: That's what we wanted. To sound like before.

Q: Did you try to go back to your roots?

A: I think Shaka Rock is what we are. Shine On was different because of what was going on around us: fortunately, everything cooled down.

Q: How do you define the sound of your band?

A: The most important word for us is Roll. I can say that we're a Pop and Roll band.

Q: Are you satisfied with the record?

A: Yes. That's probably the most interesting album we've done so far, because we were challenged as we never were before. I think as long as the present goes, this is our best album.

"I can't wait. Argentina has a great rock tradition. And the meat is very good!"

And if you've got no idea of what I wrote on the post title, it means "I've got info on the US tour" in a very cheesy Spanish (By the way, have you watched Jet's Haiti video?). So, Jet shall be visiting the Americans during the whole month of March and the Canadians will have their piece too!

Dom Howard from Muse was interviewed at the BDO 2010 and he talked about how the "Black in Back" cover with Nic Cester came up.

Muse are one of the biggest bands on the planet, but in Australia for the Big Day Out, all they wanted to do was sing an old Aussie classic, AC/DC's 'Back in Black'. And who better to perform it with than Nic Cester from Jet?

Dominic Howard from Muse told thehothits.com in their dressing room at the Big Day Out that the duet, performed at both Sydney and Melbourne Big Day Outs, has been a highlight of their careers.

"Nic Cester, which is his surname, coz I always actually introducing HIM as 'Nic Chester', but then his brother said 'listen man, that's the wrong bloody surname', and I was like 'oh bollocks!'," Dom admitted to thehothits.com.

"He's a bit of a friend of ours - we've known him for quite a long time," says Dom.

"I had this idea ages ago that we definitely wanted to play 'Back in Black' at the Big Day Out because I think every year there's a rumour that AC/DC are going to play and they never do, so we thought we'd do a little tribute to our favourite Australian band and he's got the perfect voice for it. He's got that lovely high raspy voice him, so we asked him and he said 'yes'."

Even for a band that have played the biggest stadiums in the world, the cover was a big deal for Muse.

"It was the most fun thing we've ever done onstage!," says Dom.
